An East Coast wildflower, reported in every that borders the coast from the Gulf of Mexico to Massachusetts. Its range doesn't penetrate inland very far. It's been reported in Vermont and I've found it in the Adirondack Park, NY. Ontario, Canada has some according to one web site.

Found: bogs, lake and pond edges' streams - emergent in shallow acid water
Light: Full sun - Partial shade
Height: 8 - 30 inch
Aug - Sept bloom time
